Day-by-day itinerary

Day 1

Arrival in Amman

Welcome to Jordan. On arrival you are met and transferred to your hotel, with the rest of the day free to settle in and take a first stroll through the capital.

Day 2

Amman city tour

A guided day through Amman – the hilltop Citadel, the restored Roman Theatre and the Jordan Museum, home to some of the oldest human statues ever found. We also stop at the Iraq Al-Amir women's cooperative, where local artisans keep village crafts alive.

Day 3

Jerash & a home-hosted dinner

Spend the day at Jerash, one of the best-preserved Roman cities anywhere: the colonnaded street, the South Theatre, the Temple of Zeus and Hadrian's Arch. In the evening, a Jordanian family opens their home for dinner – the warmest introduction to local hospitality.

Day 4

King's Highway to Wadi Rum

Follow the ancient King's Highway south, stopping in Madaba for its famous 6th-century mosaic map of the Holy Land, then Mount Nebo, where Moses is said to have looked out over the Promised Land. Arrive at a Wadi Rum camp for a zarb dinner – meat and vegetables slow-baked under the sand.

Day 5

Wadi Rum & on to Petra

Wake to breakfast over the desert and cardamom coffee with your Bedouin hosts, then a two-hour jeep tour among the towering rock formations and Lawrence of Arabia filming sites. In the afternoon, transfer to Petra – with an optional cooking class and dinner if you would like one.

Day 6

Petra

A full day in the Nabataean city. Walk the narrow Siq to the moment the Treasury appears, then explore the Roman theatre, the Temple of the Winged Lions and Qasr al-Bint. Dinner is at the Al Qantarah restaurant, over traditional Jordanian dishes.

Day 7

Little Petra & on to the Dead Sea

Visit Beida, or Little Petra, with its rock-cut temples and tombs, then Bethany Beyond the Jordan – the site of Jesus' baptism on the Jordan River. Continue to your Dead Sea resort as the land drops to the lowest point on the planet.

Day 8

Dead Sea at leisure

A free day to float on the mineral-rich water, coat yourself in the famous black mud, and use the resort spa and pools. In the evening, a farewell dinner brings the group together one last time.

Day 9

Departure

After breakfast, a private transfer to Amman's Queen Alia Airport for your flight home – or ask us to extend with the Gulf of Aqaba, a Holy Land add-on or a few days in the UAE.

Frequently asked questions

Is this Jordan tour halal-friendly?

Yes. Jordan is a Muslim-majority country, so halal food is the norm, and we are happy to note prayer stops and point out mosques along the way. Tell us your preferences when you book.

Are flights included in the price?

The advertised price is land-only, per person based on double occupancy. As a full-service Montreal agency we can add your flights from Montreal or any Canadian city and quote the trip as a complete package.

How much walking is involved?

A moderate amount. Petra and Jerash involve a fair bit of walking on uneven ground, and Petra's Siq is about a two-kilometre stroll to the Treasury. We keep the pace relaxed and there are options to ride part of the way at Petra.

When is the best time to visit Jordan?

Spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) are ideal – comfortable days for Petra and Wadi Rum and pleasant evenings at the Dead Sea. We run this itinerary year-round on private dates.

How do I book?

Reach us at 450-600-1616 or info@noorvoyages.ca, or send an enquiry through this page. A Noor Voyages advisor will confirm dates, availability and your final quote.
